Grand Theft Auto IV to Sell Better on PS3?
There's just seven days left until the launch of Grand Theft Auto IV, and the frenzy of anticipation is well under way. One question many are asking is: 'which version will sell more'? Some suggest PlayStation 3, because GTA has been historically associated with the PS2, and because Sony has a GTAIV PS3 bundle on the way. While others say the Xbox 360, because of its larger userbase and downloadable content.  Neither gamers nor retailers can agree, as MCV-UK reports conflicting beliefs from various retailers in Europe. "Both titles have generated great interest on the Asda website, with strong pre-orders, and the PS3 version is selling three times that of 360, which is surprising and not in line with what we'd expect," said Asda's head of games Duncan Cross.
Three times as much? That sounds pretty unreal, but it's just one such example. A Debbie O'Neill, a representative for Comet's games division states: "We have great expectations and believe it is going to be a massive hardware driver - especially on PS3." That is not to say that she believes it'll sell best on the PS3, just that it should move more consoles for Sony than Microsoft.
On the other hand, Tim Ellis, an HMV representative, mentions that interest for the Xbox 360 version is higher, thanks to an in-store incentive: "Demand for both formats is high, but our 1,000 Xbox points offer generated a huge amount of interest."
The GTAIV frenzy is so high that GAME, the UK's largest game retailer, cannot promise the fulfillment of pre-orders for launch day. "As expected, there is huge anticipation for GTA IV and we are working closely with Take Two to serve as many customers as possible," said a GAME representative. "Given the demand, we are unable to guarantee customers who order a copy will receive the title on launch day."
With record high pre-orders, you can bet your bottom dollar that GTAIV should end up one of this generation's best selling games, if not the best selling.

So with that said, Dan Houser already said that they pushes the PS3 "Close to limits" or something similar to that, and lets not forget that many developers are leaning towards the PS3 when it comes to power.
So, why isn't the X360 being pushed to its limits agian? Exactly, unless you have a good reason why it woldn't, just think about everything that had to be done within the game to get it to "the Golden" stage. Graphics isn't the only thing needed to push a system to it's Limits you know...

People pre-order games and a week later there are a lot of copies gathering dust: Halo 3, Unreal Tournament 3, Turok, Call of Duty 4, and now Grand Theft Auto 4...
