Burnout Paradise Gets Nighttime and Bikes!

Today, the folks at Criterion have announced that they will be dropping two sexy downloadable features for all Burnout Paradise owners. They're features that we've long wanted in Burnout games, but have not been given. First, is the inclusion of bikes! And not the pedaling type, the vroom-vroom motorcycle, type. Criterion has also dedicated new game modes specifically for them too.

The other big news for Burnout Paradise is that in addition to the bikes, we're also getting night-time racing. So now you'll be able to see the darker side of Paradise City, with streets lit up by lamp posts, and beautiful lighting effects filling up your screen.

We've included a shot of the game featuring both updates, so take a look. The only bad news to come from this is the wait. You'll have to wait about four months to get your hands on this downloadable pack, as Criterion doesn't plan to launch it until August.

Looks great. But I dunno about the whole Motorcycle thing. They would seem too easy to take down or race against.

Nothing like driving a car into a bike and watching it crash on the side of the road :)

How the hell do they take anything down? lol Great idea though. It's always nice to see when a developer listens to it's community.

I assume the bikes will only be able to take down themselves - Road Rash, anyone? ;)

Im up for it, but still... They should add a special ability for bikes instead of turbo, bikes are fast enough... but not strong enough.

Yes, I love this game but right now... I can't keep my mind off the heli-races in GTA IV... I think to myself "Do I want to piss everyone off and just crash into them with my Heli, or do I want to piss everyone off and leave them in dust behind me..." Oh so interesting :) Why am I talking about GTA IV here? haha, all-in-all, Burnout Paradise is a sweet game, Ill play it all-day long even when GTA IV is out, I love crashing into things and watching the after-effects :)

Not only will we get Bikes and Nighttime, but we will get a driver on the bike. Maybe we could get drivers for the other cars and lots of blood and dismemberments during the crashes. Let's make it more real. Or maybe just take the driver off the bike and pretend we are racing remote cars and bikes. Or, if it's just a kids game why not put faces on the cars or Disney characters driving them? I'm personally for blood, gore and lots of fire with explosions.
