Grand Theft Auto IV SE Soundtrack Revealed

When you pick up your Grand Theft Auto IV Special Edition pack later next week, inside you'll find the game's soundtrack. Up until now, we had no idea as to what's featured on the soundtrack. Today, Amazon.com has revealed the list of songs that you'll find when popping the compilation into a player.

Now, I'm going to go off on a limb and say that this isn't the complete soundtrack, as the actual game surely has tons more. Unfortunately, there's been no word on whether or not Rockstar plans to do a collective release of every song spanning across numerous CDs, much like what they did with Vice City.

Still, we probably won't know what the entire soundtrack consists of until we get our hands on the game. So take a look at just some of the songs you'll hear:

  • Soviet Connection (Theme from GTA IV) by Michael Hunter
  • Dirty New Yorker by Mobb Deep (feat. Havoc & Prodigy)
  • No Sex for Ben by The Rapture
  • No Fraid A by Munga
  • Where's My Money by Busta Rhymes
  • I Want You by C.J.
  • Rocky Mountain Way by Joe Walsh
  • Stand Up Jamrock by Bob Marley & The Wailers and Damian Marley
  • Liberty City: The Invasion by Seryoga
  • Vagabond by Greenskeepers
  • On a Journey by Electrik Funk
  • Nickname by Qadir
  • Holy Thursday by David Axelrod
  • War is Necessary by Nas
  • Zombie by Fela Kuti
  • 5:23 (Maiden Voyage) by Global Communication

Half of it is not rap garbage. Only the Bustah and Mobb Deeps joints will be 'rap garbage'. The Nas track will be good.

The rest don't look like 'rap' artists to me.

You rock heads are so quick to talk foul about what you know nothing of, but what you see/hear on the surface.

I don't mean to make this a music discussion. However, I am a Fan of rap and we are sick of listening to your crap called Rock or Metal. We don't wanna listen to "I love you so much, I can't leave you alone" we want to listen to "I shot da fool in da head, he bled" THIS is what I call Man music, not your wuss music. Peace "homies"

For the love of God GTA team. Spend some money on copyrighted cool music. Not this stupid crap u call music! this is killing me inside. You would think with all the money they would make a better list. And not just the crappy music, but the Cars. i.e. the Bullet is a Ford GT 40, would it have killed them to add a touch of reality? If this is kept up then i can't promise that I'm getting GTA:BS (B S, get it?)

Is this any surprise? Would it be any better if half of the music was dimmu and all sorts of metal? Some might say yes. Its really all down to personal preference and if you dont like the selection then it obviously wasnt made for you. I pity whoever gave Fabi a thumbs down because the simple fact is that hes probably right. Stop crying and just dont buy it.

I do agree, to each their own, but I think they should do a little more of the Vice City mode. Such as, put out multipule CDs. And K Phantom, I'm sure that the whole Rockstar team would love to put the "Ford GT40" (which is actually the old car, currently badged as the "Ford GT" no "40" for this car) but Automakers such as Ford and Nissan with the Elegy (Nissan Skyline), The automakers do not want there cars being stolen or blown up. They like to see them in a more professional way such as Need For Speed style not getting torn to shit by some gang-banger thug like Carl Johnson or Niko Belic. Rockstar would love to promote them but, hey it's a hard business...

@ K Phantom: Rockstar would love to give us full reality feel, but they don't really have a choice when it comes to all that because the whole world (excluding children and avid gamers such as ourselves) hate violence. I myself, in all reality, hate real blood. I get queezy at the sight of needles. I like "death" metal alot. But I know, and most of you guys know, the difference in fake and real. Rockstar kinda has to maintain that balance for now. In about 10 years, who gives a rats a** about what happened with the video game world before, and they could probably make it more realistic, but for now they NEED to keep that balance between a game and life. Besides, they cannot take a lawsuit from millions of fans' families because that is all they do is play GTAIV. If you get it too real you'll have the whole "Sue Pantara for making your kid kill my kid" deal. We'll just have to wait...

Sorry for rambling, but it's mostly the truth to my knowledge... :-)

K Phantom: "I love you so much, I can't leave you alone", is more an emo type thing. I don't think many of us would include that in the metal grouping. Metal is more a cross between, "I do what i want, not what you want me to do" and "I'm gonna rip your head off cos i don't like what you do.". And some may also include a peaches style in there too, such as "i'd rather fuck who i want than kill who i'm told to."

Thanks Lordnicon.

@K Phantom - I was crackin' up at that first comment.

It's hard to appeal to everyone with a multi-genre soundtrack.

Just keep in mind every genre has it's good/bad. We don't need more closed-minded individuals.
