Grand Theft Auto IV PS3 Bundle Announced...for Europe
So we've seen the pictures, and some questioned the validity, but last night, Sony Computer Entertainment of Europe confirmed that the Grand Theft Auto IV bundle is very much real. The bundle will launch alongside the release of Grand Theft Auto IV next week on April 29th. It will feature a 40GB PlayStation 3 that comes with a SixAxis controller, and a standard edition copy of GTAIV. The total cost will run European PS3 hopefuls 439-Euros, or 319-Pounds for those in the United Kingdom.  This Grand Theft Auto IV bundle marks just one of many bundles that the PlayStation 3 has been treated to. We've already had the MotorStorm bundle, the Gran Turismo 5 Prologue bundle, a Heavenly Sword/Formula One bundle, the upcoming Metal Gear Solid 4 bundle, and a few others in between. No doubt that the bundle move has proven successful to Sony, as units are whisked off the shelves at a better pace.
Historically, having a pack-in has always been a proven formula, dating all the way back to the NES, SNES, Genesis and all their many bundles. "We are delighted to offer the millions of PS3 and GTA fans the ultimate gaming package," said David Reeves, President, Sony Computer Entertainment Europe. Unfortunately, it looks like American gamers are out of luck, as Sony's PR team has stated that the bundle isn't happening in the US.
