Madden NFL 09 To Boast "Real Football Intelligence System"
Last year's Madden installment turned out to be a solid football production...on the Xbox 360. The PS3 version suffered from a lesser frame rate and ticked off a lot of PS3 owners, but we're hoping EA fixes that for Madden NFL 09. Beyond fixes, it seems they're preparing some major enhancements and upgrades, which will come as welcome additions.
According to a recent GameTap interview with Madden NFL 09's designer Phil Frazier, we can expect some very cool stuff when the newest entry drops later this year. For example, we see terms like "holographic training center," which makes the mind race with limitless possibilities. Beyond that, what caught our eye most was something called the Real Football Intelligence System, which is destined to be a major feature. Basically, this mechanic tracks your skill as a player and provides helpful feedback and constructive criticism. We're not sure if this is something the player can fiddle around with, but we do know the idea of a virtual assistant manager is a good one. Well, provided you're not adverse to a little feedback that might not be so glowing...
Furthermore, the game will feature new color men in the form of Cris Collinsworth and Tom Hammond and fully realized online play, including 32-man leagues and complete trading, drafting and training. Madden NFL 09 could end up being the most engrossing football simulation experience ever, and if EA doesn't screw over PS3 owners again, we'll likely be excited about it.

don't say ignorant comments like that. People enjoy playing as their favorite nfl players and teams, going through seasons, drafts and the offseason. You can't do that outside in the park. I'm sure other people who play basketball and football video games also play outside. Why don't you go wave your power sword outside and gain some real experience "points."
