The Getaway Enters Pre-Production

While it always seems to exist in a mysterious haze somewhere in the background, it has never disappeared entirely. The Getaway for the PS3 was one of the first titles to "wow" the crowd at E3 several years back, but since then, details and information have been few and far between.

Have no fear, though; it seems the game has just entered a crucial phase of the development process. According to UK gaming site Dark Zero, it has been confirmed by reporters from The Guardian that the highly anticipated title has moved into pre-production: "A small team is working on pre-production for the next iteration of The Getaway," they said, and at some point in the future, the team will be "joined by the bulk of the Eight Days team when the latter is completed." Eight Days is another action title the studio is preparing, but much like The Getaway, we know little about it. However, it's good news to hear that progress is being made, and we're hoping to start seeing some actual media and game details before long.

Unfortunately, we still don't have a release date for the game, so it has a big ol' "TBA" slapped on it. If that changes, we'll be sure to let you know.
