Fatal Inertia Finally Gliding Back To PS3
The saga of Koei's Fatal Inertia was a long and relatively painful one for PlayStation 3 owners. At first, the futuristic racer was supposed to be exclusive to Sony's platform, but then it got delayed and they revealed it was also coming to the Xbox 360. After that, the 360 version remained on track while the PS3 version got delayed again. Eventually, the latter was flat-out canceled.
But now, it's finally headed to the PS3 in online Network form. Fatal Inertia EX will arrive on the PlayStation Store in May and retail for $29.99 (half the price of the game on the 360), according to the MTV Multiplayer blog.
"After the launch of the Xbox 360 version, we had a unique situation that allowed us to reflect on what could be done with the PlayStation 3 version," said lead producer Mike Bond. "But having watched the growth of the PlayStation Network's user base and the game's multiplayer component, we felt the strength of this game would be in its online community."
This is even better news than it appears on the surface; Fatal Inertia is not only half price in comparison to its original release, but it also comes with "a number of new features and gameplay tweaks." Essentially, this means that despite the long wait, PS3 owners will get a far cheaper and presumably better version. Not bad, we say.
