Qore: Online Info Delivery System?

Ever heard of a game called Qore? Yeah, we haven't, either. However, according to Kotaku, Sony Computer Entertainment America has recently filed a trademark for the bizarre name, and it might be for something completely different...

As they pointed out, the standard description for a game would be pretty simple- "computer game software and video game software." But that's not what this is; the description that goes along with the trademark application reads like this- "computer services, namely, providing interactive online magazine and entertainment services in the field of video games." Now, if we're going to be all literal, we can make some educated guesses. Kotaku believes it might be some sort of online magazine, something that would be a step up from the Information Board. Considering the state of print publication these days, it would only make sense for Sony to try the mode of delivering information electronically.

Whenever we find out what "Qore" really is, we'll be sure to let you know. It might be something like the official PlayStation blog, only with more info, and it's available at all times on the PS3. If you have any ideas, feel free to leave a Comment and tell us what you think it might be!

My guess is as good as yours. There's no telling what the heck this might be. Sounds really interesting, though. May be as you say, just an online mag, but I guess only time (and Sony) will tell us.

Considering the approaching release of Home, I would think it would be a function for use in that E-vironment. Possibly a fee-based publication that can be accessed in home, and possibly from users' PC's. At least this is what makes the most sense to me, seeing as Sony wants Home to be the center of PS3 gaming and socializing.
