EA Sports Freestyle Brand Unveiled
If you hadn't noticed, the casual game market is bigger than ever, and of course, EA loves to capitalize on anything big in this industry.
According to GameDaily, Electronic Arts has revealed their new brand, "EA Sports Freestyle," which is a subdivision of their popular and long-running EA Sports brand. Freestyle will be geared specifically for the casual gamer; the titles will be "easy, pick-up-and-play games for all ages," even though they say the software will also appeal to the hardcore gamer crowd as well.
"The launch of EA Sports Freestyle is an exciting milestone in the evolution of the EA Sports brand," said EA Sports president, Peter Moore. "EA Sports Freestyle will be a perfect complement to our core portfolio of games that our loyal fans are deeply passionate about, and will provide compelling opportunities for new audiences looking for a lighter gaming experience and an easier entry point into EA Sports."
As for the games that will fall under this new brand, one of them is the upcoming Facebreaker, a comedic and highly entertaining boxing title. It's scheduled to arrive in September, and we can expect a couple more Freestyle games to drop "within the next year." Well, if there's one publisher that can understand the casual gamer, it's EA.
