EA Sets E3 Press Conference, Three Big Games On Tap

While E3 seems to be the magically shrinking show, the big hitters should still be in attendance. Take Electronic Arts, for example: according to Next-Gen.biz, the industry's largest publisher has revealed the baseline details for its press conference at the July show in Los Angeles.

EA will hold their conference on Monday, July 14 at 3 p.m. PT at the Orpheum Theater in LA. But more importantly, they finally have a few titles that we're very much excited about, and none of them have anything to do with sports. We should be getting more details and media for the likes of Dead Space, Mirror's Edge and Tiberium, three games that are rapidly rising on our PGR ("Potentially Great Radar"). Dead Space actually has a shot at redefining the survival/horror genre (and it could use a boost), while Mirror's Edge seeks to bring first-person action into a whole new stratosphere. Tiberium looks to be an intense FPS with a sci-fi setting, and one that will hopefully compete favorably in the incredibly competitive first-person shooter category.

For now, we're just happy to know when EA's E3 press conference will be, and that we'll learn more about three very interesting games. This could be just the trio of titles that EA needs, and if they can make at least one of them a "AAA" experience for gamers, they should consider that a victory.
