Vampire Rain Sinks Fangs Into PS3

According to WorthPlaying.com, Vampire Rain: Altered Species is on its way to the PlayStation 3 and players will work with a black ops unit to eliminate a particularly nasty race of vampires called Nightwalkers. The game will boast new character animations and interactions, plus bonus levels and the addition of multiplayer gameplay.

"We are very excited to bring Vampire Rain: Altered Species to the PS3," said Artoon President Naoto Oshima. "The incredible power of the PS3, will allow us to give gamers a fully immersive experience. This will include: 5.1 channel audio, over 50 hours of gameplay, extra bonus levels, a lot of completely revamped animations, character interactions and much more."

In the game, mankind has been battling vampires for quite some time, but the Nightwalkers are like super blood-drinkers and are threatening to completely eradicate humans. Those who are attacked by the Nightwalkers will either die or become a Nightwalker themselves, and due to this epidemic, the government has formed an elite unit to deal with the biggest danger we've ever faced. Players will step into the shoes of John Lloyd, who holds the distinction of being the lone human to ever survive an encounter with the Nightwalkers. Perhaps this is the reason the government recruited him in the first place...

We're waiting for more details on the multiplayer mode, but as it stands now, Vampire Rain: Altered Species could be a very entertaining experience and a fine addition to the PS3's library. Stay tuned for more info and media from Artoon.

this is one of the most poorly received games on the 360. why, why are they doing this to us? will the 'incredible power' of the ps3 allow them to create even more indestructible enemies and bigger areas with which to put up invisible walls?

The press release should have read:

Vampire Rain: Altered Species is coming to the PS3 because we just didn't lose enough money the first time around. Here at Artoon we are commited to fixing our past wrongs.

Shame on you PSX for being excited about this game. PS3 Fanboy has a funny quote about the ps3 version here. http://www.ps3fanboy.com/2008/05/08/aq-interactive-re-announces-vampire-rain-for-ps3/

As a rule, we don't bash on unreleased games, no matter what they are. Notice we only say it "could be" something decent...trust me, we're really not expecting anything too great, but we don't wish to say that in the news.

I hope they fix their past errors and just...well...do the game all over again.

But then again the hardware on the PS3 is more complicated than in the 360, so I really suspect that they will blow it again.

No telling. A lot of times they try too hard to push what they have without understanding the capabilities. Although it's generally strong enough to handle whatever they set it for, if they don't do it properly it causes many bugs and such. These bugs need to be discovered BEFORE they start getting crazy rather than afterwards.
