Lord Of The Rings: Conquest Details
Back in February, we learned that Pandemic Studios was working on a new entry in Tolkien's fabled "Lord of the Rings" franchise. At the time, however, we only had the announcement; Pandemic said they'd reveal the details "in the very near future."
According to GameSpot, the future is now. This new LotR title will be called Lord of the Rings: Conquest, and it will release for the PS3, Xbox 360, DS and PC some time this fall. Players will have the option of fighting for either good or evil (would you rather be under Sauron's flag or fight beside Gandalf?), and if you choose the good guys, you have more options. Yep, you can run with the men, elves or dwarves, depending on your preference. The game should be different from EA's LotR titles from the last generation; here, you will have full reign over very large, open-field environments, and the variety continues to impress. We've heard that controllable units include the fearsome Balrog, the gigantic Oliphaunts, and the master of evil himself, Sauron. As Pandemic general manager Josh Resnick said-
"Our experience creating massive, rich, action-packed games means that The Lord of the Rings: Conquest will give fans exactly what they want: full control of the blade, bow, and magic to fight its epic battles any way they want--even if they choose to play from the evil side."
If you want more for Lord of the Rings: Conquest head on over to the game's official website and check it out. You'll have to register, but we know all you die-hard LotR fans will do it. Stay tuned for added details on Conquest in the coming months.
