TV Shows Downloadable On PS3?
We've already heard whispers about plans for downloading movies on the PlayStation 3 - this is a service that should eventually arrive, although we don't know exactly when - so perhaps it would stand to reason that TV series might be included, too.
According to the PS3Blog, a reader noticed an intriguing part of the latest video released for the US PlayStation Store entitled, "What You Need." Now, if you haven't already seen it, you can watch it here. Right around the one minute mark, you will see several icons for television channels, which prompts the possibility that our favorite TV shows might also be available for download. Of course, there may be a small issue when it comes to licensing across territories, so this is one option that may only be available to US users, although it wouldn't be impossible to obtain worldwide licensing rights for certain shows and series. This won't be free, either, but then again, nobody would really expect it to be, and it would make for a very logical addition to the full media center that is the PS3.
Sony is really working to make the PS3 more multi-functional with every passing year (heck, with every passing month), so downloadable movies and TV programs is only the beginning. Check back to see if we can confirm this particular rumor; we'll see what we can find.

PSN for me is still a little unstable ...and slow. I have problems accessing it. In my case it may be my ISP... it would be interesting to know how many people experience instability such as, for example, having to sign in and out of PSN a few times before seeing your entire friends list. Odd anomalies such as this... or for example experiencing countless lock ups when playing online games such as GRID. As you stated above, licensing issues abound too, this will no doubt get in the way, with the only solution being having to have 4 PSN accounts to have access to everything, as I have done :( Looking at it now, this whole next gen experience has been inadequate for me. Playing the US version of Motorstorm does not permit me to play with a mate of mine of Singapore. The GT5 Prologue demo does not permit me to play with people camped on the EU servers for example. It all feels a little bitty and badly cobbled together...
Comes down to this... PSN still needs to mature and Sony have got alot of work ahead of them to get next gen working as envisioned. Infact I see the PS3 (and similar consoles) as a prequel to true next gen, which will be revealed in 2010 and beyond... what we are getting is only a taster of things to come... and we are funding that experimnent :(

Sony are doing so many great features its no suprise why everything gets delayed. They're doing so many things I bet they have their heads up their ass. Loooking forward to the TVrecorder for UK even though I don't watch much TV or even can't receive digital TV until the switch-over in 2009.
All they have to do for my area is update the transmitter thats about 1000yds away, but they can't be bothered even though they'll have to do it in 2009.
