PS3 News: Konami To Start A Rock Revolution

Konami To Start A Rock Revolution

The music genre is one of the most popular in gaming history; what began with the likes of PaRappa the Rapper back on the original PlayStation has grown into a revolution that boasts gigantic franchises like Guitar Hero, SingStar, and Rock Band. Konami, who once published Guitar Freaks, is now looking to take a piece of that tasty pie with a revolution of their own: Rock Revolution.

The game is scheduled for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, and will boast a guitar controller and a "realistic drum kit designed by real musicians." (source-GameSpot) Konami isn't limiting the game to any one particular rock category, either; they've said we can expect "a broad range of music styles," and bands like Twisted Sister, Motley Crue, The Ramones and Quiet Riot will be featured. They also plan to keep up with the competition, as Rock Revolution will compete with Guitar Hero IV when it comes to customization. Konami's effort will have a virtual music studio where players can create their own tracks - to add to the 40 that will be included in the game - and there will be multiple gameplay modes: Jam Mode (test and record your creations), Career, and online and offline Versus, Co-op and Band Battle multiplayer.

Rock Revolution will thunder onto store shelves some time this fall, which means the aforementioned Guitar Hero IV will most certainly be a major competitor. Either way, though, it's just another option for all you music fans out there!

Maybe we've finally got a decent instrument music game. Yeah Guitar Hero 3 was fun, but the dcl was a huge let down. Without good dlc support these games just aren't all that fun after a while. There's a reason music fans often have very large music collections.
Konami has form for delivering. Let's hope they keep that up for this one.

I'm not a fan of these games, but I hope Konami is successful in this.

Is Kojima the leader of this project? If he is ill fight for that game, even if I have to beat up that old innocent lady walking away from Wal-Mart or Gamestop for one... ill do it, im crazy O_o

(I know it's highly unlikly for him to be the LP, but hey... Not my fault if I have some wild imaginations like that)

Snake and Liquid Ocelot need to be unlockable and it needs to use MGS4's engine. Can you imagine playing as Snake in those awesome graphics and pulling off a sweet solo.

Oh yeah, Sauron from the Lord of the Rings should be in this game too. Why, you ask? Because I said so.
