Porsche Will "Probably" Hit GT5 Lineup

Gran Turismo fans have been waiting for the day when all the major car manufacturers would agree to put their name and their cars in the esteemed series. Unfortunately, some of the world's hottest supercars ('cough' the ones from Italy 'cough') never saw the light of day in GT, which was frustrating for the car enthusiast and racing fan in all of us.

However, things are definitely going to change in Gran Turismo 5, as we all know. Ferrari will make its grand entrance in the world's most popular video game racing simulator - we've already played with a couple in Prologue - and more never-before-seen cars will be available as well. But what about Porsche? If you want to get technical, they have been in previous GT titles under the name "RUF," but...well, that's still not Porsche. Thankfully, though, it's just another long-time absentee that series creator Kazunori Yamauchi claims will "probably" arrive in GT5. During an interview with the Official PlayStation Magazine, he said that by the time GT5 is ready, Polyphony Digital will have acquired "most" if not "all" of the major manufacturers. He was prompted about Porsche, and he just said, "probably."

There's no doubt that GT5 will be a masterpiece, but considering it's going for ultimate realism, they should certainly go for as many manufacturers they can get. Let's hope that Porsche will join Ferrari in the final product!

Ruf not a Porsche ? Correct sir, thats because from the first day of a Rufs starts as a Porsche, however in the higher models; RGT, CTR2 etc, it is completely stripped down to the bare bones chassis and re-fortified with Rufs chassis techniques and other heavy duty modifications. So yes, its not a Porsche...its only every way ;) But nonetheless, while im happy enough with Ruf models, have a "Porsche" branded model would be nice.

I agree with Bamf, I'd rather keep RUF and the finance team spend the excess cash for me to drive a Diablo than a GT3 or Boxter. I can really live without Porsche.

I agree, i love Porsche but why do you need a GT3 when you have an RGT thats based on the GT3 but better. Why do you need a 911T when you have a Ruf CTR or Turbo are(996 variant). Porsche is good, but we dont really need them, if its gonna be Lambo or Porsche, we already have cars from Stuttgart, give us Lambo.
