May 23 Embargo For Haze UK Reviews, Early Scores Low
If you've read our hands-on preview of Haze, you already know that we're not too impressed with that demo. In fact, from what we've seen we're not really surprised to see the early negative feedback.
Oddly enough, it seems the game has a review embargo of May 23 for the UK, but there is no such limitation for North America. IGN already has their review up - 4.5 out of 10; ouch - and we expect other US sources to follow suit shortly. Besides, at this point, is there really any point to delaying what seems to be the inevitable? Free Radical muffed this one, despite a few high scores from lesser sources. Earlier this year, it was on every PS3 owner's "most anticipated" list, but the mediocre demo and other reactions from industry professionals around the world quickly cooled our enthusiasm. Perhaps it was just too much to hope for...we already have the best game of the generation so far in GTAIV, and in only three weeks time, we'll have another title that vies for that top slot. Guess the trifecta isn't going to happen.
Stay tuned for our Haze review, but while we never give anything away early, we kinda already did with that demo preview. I'd say you shouldn't expect too much.

The "weapon steal" idea is a good example of this. Interesting concept that Nectar makes the Troopers to arrogant that they don't expect a rebel to just walk up and steal their gun out of their hands. But is anyone really gonna be thinking about that during gameplay? Of course not. If it's not directly displayed through the gameplay itself then the concept doesn't exist.
