Ubisoft On Haze: "Try It For Yourself"
Well, as most of you are already well aware, Haze has not turned out to be the critical success we had anticipated. The reviews have been ranging from a low 4.5 from IGN to a 34/40 from Famitsu and a 9/10 from PlayStation Magazine of Italy, but for the most part, the average score isn't encouraging.
Not surprisingly, Ubisoft has taken a damage control stance on this one, urging gamers to "judge the game for themselves."
“One thing I can already tell about the reviews is that most of the time they are the opinion of only one person and may not reflect the way you will see the game: you have to make your own judgment,” said Ubisoft community developer, Wuzzi.
GameSpot just gave the game a boring 6.0, and gamers are mostly disappointed with the result. Wuzzi brought up the Famitsu review in an attempt to defend Haze, but most consumers probably won't buy into his "try it for yourself" encouragement. It may only be the "opinion of one person," but gamers often use reviews as a guideline for their purchasing behavior. That's the way of this industry, and Ubisoft may as well accept the fact that Haze probably won't sell a huge number of copies.
However, we are big supporters of the "try it yourself" philosophy. After all, this really is all about entertainment, and if you're convinced you'll have fun with a certain game, to hell with what we anal critics say. ;)

In like every article or ad about the game, the hype up nectar to be this amazing new gameplay addition.
I still think this is the year of the ps3 ( even with some awesome games for the 360 hitting too ) but i never once considered Haze to be one of the causes of it. With all the other good fps out now and some on the way ( resistance 2 and KZ 2 ) maybe it was just hard for me to really care about haze. The straw that broke the camels back was the demo for it.
