PS3 News: Soul Calibur IV In Europe On August 1

Soul Calibur IV In Europe On August 1

The most anticipated fighter of the year is scheduled to arrive in the US on July 29. However, the European date for Soul Calibur IV has been somewhat in question, just because the publisher hasn't stepped up and officially provided an exact date.

But now we have one- according to the Videogaming247 blog, the European release date for SCIV is August 1, only a couple days after it launches here in North America. Of course, there's plenty of time between now and then to shift that date around, but the good news is that the game should be out at almost exactly the same time in the US and Europe. Big titles are getting simultaneous releases these days - look at GTAIV and MGS4 - and while this isn't quite simultaneous, it's pretty damn close. No waiting around while everyone gets to play an awesome game, right Euro gamers? August 1 isn't that far off, and you have plenty of time to work your way through the aforementioned blockbusters.

Remember, the only problem you have left is a toughie: which version of Soul Calibur IV will you get? The PS3 version has Darth Vader and the Xbox 360 version has Yoda. Hmm...

I will buy this game. Darth Vader is a nice bonus for the PS3 version.
