Bad Company Demo Set For June 5

We've been hoping for a look at EA's Battlefield: Bad Company ever since it was announced last year, and it appears we will finally get our chance. Of course, we'll get that chance even sooner if we pre-order the game.

According to the game's official site, the "single-player and multiplayer demo" will be available on June 5 on both the PlayStation Store and Xbox Live Marketplace. And if you decide to pre-order the game now, you'll be able to download that demo a week earlier on May 29. Now, we see this as a little backwards - wouldn't most gamers want to play the demo before pre-ordering? - but hey, a bonus is a bonus. Oh, and they're tossing in another little bonus: a sniper rifle, which is guaranteed to be most useful. You have the option of pre-ordering the game online or down at your local GameStop, and we really haven't heard anything bad about this one. We know FPSs are a dime a dozen these days, but with Haze flopping about like a dying fish out of water, perhaps Battlefield: Bad Company can be a cure-all tonic.

Then again, maybe we'll actually have to wait until the next Call of Duty or something before another truly fantastic FPS drops. There are plenty of encouraging projects out there, though!

If you ask me, It's kinda sad that Haze didn't do so well, the game was put through a lot of work and the developers as well, but when you bring something like Battlefield and Call of Dury agianst each other, they are both winners. THAT IS, if Call Of Duty 5 goes more moden than pretense... we all see what happens. I think the only game allowed to go more into World War 2 time framed would be Resistance, because it is just freggin amazing.

I don't know about Resistance, we will have to see when II is released. Maybe Battlefield will be a worthy purchase. I have saved money by no buying 4 games I wanted to thanks to reviews that were spot on and very informative. Maybe Battlefield will give me an excuse to purchase something finally. In the interim I am getting my Amiga1200 up and running again. Retro gaming seems more fun than the current NEXT GEN!

I'm not sure if Haze deserves all the bad press it's getting. A lot of people are basing their theories on just the demo, and I don't want to make a clear assumption until I play more of it. I'm not saying that the game WILL be great or not, I'm just saying that I'm not going to jump on that bandwagon just yet, which it seems like a lot of people already have based on a couple pre-released reviews.

yeah, hopefully this one doesn't disappoint. but i gotta say, i don't think CoD4 was as perfect as most people seem to. i love playing it, but it seems to me that very simple things would make it 10 times better. i'm talking about multiplayer randomly throwing you into a map. half the time you get stuck watching it load for a match that just finished (or is about to). how pathetic is that? CoD4 with a CoD3 or warhawk-like multiplayer game selection would be closer to perfect. maybe throw in a bigger map designed for a better sniper experience, and its gold-plated.
Bad Co. has a ton of potential, and i hope it does a better job with those aspects. that aside, the all important gameplay has to match a high bar set by that of CoD4 if it really wants to succeed

I wonder if game demos are a good thing for developers? Haze looked good on paper and in previews but that demo killed it for me and alot of others. Even people that were on the fence about buying it probably won't now because of that lack-luster demo.

I bet Haze would have sold better without the demo....Demos, good for consumers, but only good for developers if it is an AWESOME game.
