90-Minute Cut-Scenes In MGS4?
Some things, you just have to question, even if you end up being proved wrong in the future.
According to several sources around the Internet, PSW magazine is reporting that some of the cut-scenes in Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots clock in at almost "90 minutes each." Okay, now before everyone gets all worked up, we find it difficult to believe that multiple cut-scenes in MGS4 will be an hour and a half long. We remember hearing something similar about Xenosaga, when in fact, the average length was maybe 15 minutes with the longest being no more than 35 or 40 minutes (and that was only one). Bottom line is that everyone always overestimates how long a cut-scene goes on for, primarily because certain gamers may have the attention span of a gnat. We've already heard about the perfect 10 review from PSM, and we've also heard feedback from other trusted sources, and not a one mentioned anything about 90-minute cut-scenes. We think they would've.
So while it's probably not out of the realm of possibility, we're not buying this. If we had heard that maybe the ending was 90 minutes, we might accept that, but a bunch of cut-scenes weighing in at an hour and a half? No, not likely. But we'll see.
