Square-Enix Hints At FFVII Remake?
You know, it's pretty sad when we have to cling to pauses and non-denials. But as far as many FF fans are concerned, that's plenty good enough when it comes to keeping the Final Fantasy VII remake rumor alive.
Square-Enix's Yoshinori Kitase recently gave an interview to French gaming site Jeux-France, and you can view the full video here. Obviously, it's in French, but here's one snippet of the translation that caught our attention:
JF: "Is it possible to re-see Cloud, and why not in a remake of Final Fantasy VII?"
Kitase: "Let's see... (he's thinking for a while) ... I don't know!" (he laughs)
Well, isn't that just divine. More muteness from Square-Enix. But once again, we have to notice that they're no longer denying the possibility of a remake, which they have done many times over the past few years. Furthermore, what's with that pause? What's the implication there? We're going to see Cloud again, but...where? Yeah, a FFVII remake; maybe that's where. Of course, this is pretty thin, but when you don't have concrete and steel to build a structure, you have to make do with straw and mud. Let's hope Kitase is actually inferring something with that veiled statement up there...

But they will not announce it YET! Probably taking into considerations things like spreading out gaming release for max $$, having the game close to completion before mentioning there is a "remake underway", considering perhaps whether they should also release it for the 360 (since I'm pretty sure it's underway for the PS3... since traditional FFs have always been PS related and remember they are PROGRAMMING the FFXIII and FF vs XIII on the PS3) etc...
S-E loves $$ (heck we all do) and if there's a great way to make money - it's through a FFVII remake! Remember they were complaining about the lack of profit in this quarter... even though they barely released anything (well other than Crisis Core).
