Bioshock PS3 Set For October 2008
As the cat is already out of the bag, this is kinda anticlimactic, but it's always nice to have the official word. Oh, and it's even better to get an estimated release date!
Today, 2K Games has announced that Bioshock is currently in development for the PlayStation 3 at the publisher's 2K Marin studio. The hotly anticipated title will hit store shelves this October with "new features and content that heighten the award-winning experience." Originally exclusive to the Xbox 360 and PC last year, the game received huge critical acclaim and multiple Game of the Year nominations and awards from numerous gaming sites and publications. People just couldn't stop raving:
"Since BioShock for Xbox 360 and Games for Windows won countless 2007 Game of the Year awards, we are excited to see the impact of this stellar title for the PLAYSTATION 3 system when it debuts this fall," said Christoph Hartmann, president of 2K. "Over the coming months we look forward to revealing the new features and content that will make this a must-have game for its new audience, as well as for those who enjoyed it on the other platforms."
Players move through the mysterious, intimidating and beautiful undersea world of Rapture. The Splicers will be a constant danger, but you will have the ability to enhance and upgrade yourself through Plasmids. If you're not yet familiar with the game's premise, you'll definitely want to experience one of the best offerings of this generation later this year. We already have plenty of details concerning the PS3 effort, and as 2K says here, we can expect to see even more in the coming months. PS3 owners, as of October, 2K officially welcomes you into the Bioshock realm.

Makes ya wonder if Mass Effect will be on the horizon. If I was right about Microsoft having Bioshock as a 'timed exclusive' then I can assume it's only a matter of time.

I think they'd be more disappointed in the obvious fact that Bioshock 2 will be a multiplatform - and presumably - simultaneous release for both the PS3 and 360.

Just on point about Haze. If one is desperate to purchase an FPS now, if you do not own TimeShift yet, I think this would be a better buy than Haze. I think TimeShift has been overlooked...
