Alone In The Dark PS3 Delay Explained
Alone in the Dark may be the one game that surprises everyone this year, and survival/horror fans are salivating at the thought. However, PlayStation 3 owners aren't too happy about the situation; the Xbox 360, Wii and PC versions hit in about three weeks time while the PS3 version still has a big ol' "TBA 2008" slapped on it.
However, at the very least, we do know it's coming this year, as Sony confirmed a little while back. Developer Eden Games has recently said the same thing, but they also elaborated on the reason for this delay. According VideoGamer.com, senior producer Nour Polloni simply said the PS3 version "is not performing as well" in regards to frame rate (so what else is knew; we've heard this before), but still said that PS3 owners shouldn't be worried and that their version "isn't far off."
"There's no firm date yet but what we can say is that it's coming out this year. In terms of why it's coming out later, we have the full game running on PS3 and all the features, no problem. The thing is it's not performing as well on PS3 as we hope it is in terms of frame rate and all that. We didn't want it to come out and have less of an experience for the PS3 gamer. We wanted to tweak that up and make sure they get the best experience on PS3 as much as possible."
Well, we suppose this is better than getting a crappy port in a few weeks time. Provided Eden works to fix the frame rate, PS3 owners should be happy with a fantastic experience later this year. ...and if the game doesn't turn out so good in the first place, than it doesn't really matter, does it? We still have high expectations, though.
