PS3 News: Saints Row 2 Mini Progress Report

Saints Row 2 Mini Progress Report

You already know that Saints Row 2 has been delayed, but thanks to a THQ moderator in the official game forums, we now have a bit more information.

Moderator V-Collision recently posted an update to keep us gamers in the loop, which we of course appreciate. First up, he reconfirmed the delay from August 26 to Octobter 14 and said the team wants to "give you the best quality game possible." That includes both the single-player campaign and co-op multiplayer, which have "undergone multiple iterations and polish." It seems they're having fun doing this, because he also says it's a "designer's dream come true." As of now, the team sits firmly in the "graphics polishing" stage, and they're "extremely grateful" that THQ has given them a few extra weeks to insure that everything appears visually impressive. Lastly, he mentioned an exciting "and controversial" preview video, which will hit the Internet some time later next week.

V-Collision didn't mention anything about Grand Theft Auto IV; perhaps they're trying to avoid that comparison. We're sure THQ just wants to make a great game, so perhaps they're just focusing on their own work. ...which is exactly what we want them to do. More details and info should arrive very soon.
