Mirror's Edge NOT Set For This Month

Mirror's Edge is one of those games that might surprise a lot of people. The concept is both original and ambitious, and for that, developer DICE should be applauded. However, could EA really drop this game without much in the way of build-up or a marketing campaign?

The rumor started thanks to a VideoGameMedia's preview for Mirror's Edge, which said the title is actually coming out in only a few weeks time. Could this be possible? Here's the direct quote: "If this all sounds like a hoot and a half, you wont have to wait long; Mirror's Edge is slated for a mid-June release date."

Many have been wondering if this might be true, and we would get a chance to play this encouraging title so soon.  But we have contacted EA on the matter, and the response we received is very definitive: "Defintely not true.  Mirror's Edge isn't coming out for a while."  It seemed very weird that we hadn't heard anything new from EA or DICE, and this is one game we expect to see a lot more of before an official release date is given.  We'll certainly be looking for new info and details as time goes on, but for now...  Sorry guys, but we're going to have wait a bit longer for this one.  Oh well, more time to ramp up the hype, right?
