Eternal Sonata PS3 Won't Leave Japan
Role-playing fans were excited to learn that Eternal Sonata would eventually find its way to the PlayStation 3, especially because Sony's system hasn't had many RPGs yet. As is typically the case with most any generation, we have to wait a while before that genre fully kicks into high gear, so it's not really surprising. But sadly, we have bad news for US gamers.
While the game was available for the Xbox 360 in all major territories, it seems that the PS3 version of Eternal Sonata won't make it out of Japan. According to the Videogaming247 blog, a Namco Bandai representative has said this JRPG is gonna stay home.
"I cant speak for any other territories, but I believe Eternal Sonata is only announced for the PS3 in Japan right now," said the spokesperson. "We have no plans to release the game on the PS3 in the US at this moment."
Well, damnit. We had heard the PS3 version would boast some upgrades over the 360 version, and this is one RPG that was plenty solid to begin with. After all, considering our role-playing options on the PS3 are few and far between, RPG fans would've been satisfied with an enhanced Eternal Sonata. Oh well; maybe if US gamers make a big enough stink, it'll eventually show up here, but for now, it just ain't happening.

The 360 has a pathetic userbase in japan, yet it was still released there. NA's PS3 userbase is dozens of times larger than the 360's Japan userbase.
Only thing I can think of is that Microsoft payed to keep it from coming to the PS3.
