Famitsu Gives Date, Details For Afrika
We have yet to receive a great deal of information concerning the mysterious PlayStation 3 title, Afrika, but we're starting to dig up more details as time goes on.
1Up has sifted through the most recent Famitsu issue, and they've found an actual release date for the game: August 28, which of course only applies to Japan. We've heard this rumored date before, but the magazine also provides us with some baseline descriptions. You will be allowed to switch between first-person, overhead, and "animal-eye" camera views as you traverse the picturesque African plains. Furthermore, it seems we'll have the option of traveling in an off-road vehicle or on foot, although we're still not sure what our ultimate goal might be... Are we a photographer? We're obviously not trying to escape a dangerous situation, and it seems equally clear we won't be battling mutated zebras. No, it's just very pretty, and that's about all we know at this time.
We expect to see more details on Afrika at E3, and we do expect a 2008 release date for the US. We just wish we knew what type of game this actually is...
