L.A. Noire Falling Into Darkness?
We heard about the demise of The Getaway and Eight Days, and then we learned that EA had apparently halted production on the PS3 version of Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3. So it got us to thinking about other promising PS3 titles that have dropped off the radar since being announced, and one of them is Rockstar's L.A. Noire.
We're starting to worry that this one may suffer the same fate as the aforementioned titles. According to the Videogaming247 blog, a Rockstar spokesperson said, very simply- "At the moment we dont have any new information on LA Noire." By now, we would've expected to see or hear something, especially considering it has been nearly two years since we first caught wind of the game. The last time it hit the news was when its PS3 exclusivity was brought into question; it was rumored that the game would go multi-platform. A few weeks later, we found out the promising crime drama had been pushed back to "fiscal 2009," and since then...nothing. Whenever a game heads down this unfortunate path, the result is rarely good.
We're certainly not claiming that L.A. Noire is canceled or even delayed again; we're merely worried about that "no new information at this time" comment. At the very least, they could've said it was still in development, but they didn't, and it doesn't bode well for the future.
