No Final Fantasy XIII Demo For E3
Final Fantasy XIIIRather than wondering what won't be at E3 this year, we're starting to think about what will be there. ...anything?
The latest rumor criss-crossing the Internet has caused a big stir among RPG fans and PlayStation 3 owners, and it revolved around Final Fantasy XIII. Several sources were reporting that Square-Enix would debut a new demo of the highly anticipated PS3 exclusive at E3 this year; a demo that would include plenty of new footage. But WhatIfGaming has said a Square-Enix North American PR representative has shot the rumor down with the following depressing confirmation:
"We have no plans whatsoever to introduce a playable demo or any demo at E3 on the FFXIII project."
Of course, it may have been a long shot in the first place, but we were just starting to hope that E3 would be used as a launching pad for big news. It always used to be this way, but this year is looking pretty thin. We'd also like to see some more progress in the FFXIII camp, just because the lack of any new details or information is somewhat worrisome. We'll continue to keep you updated, though.

But come on. It's been months since we have heard ANYTHING from them on this. Hell with them siding with Microsoft I wouldn't been surprised if they come out saying this will come out on the 360 as well.

If you remember it took them AGES to ever provide a demo of any FF from their initial announcement... and from the first trailer they always only showed a FEW seconds worth of new stuff always. It takes them over a year normally to even provide a semi-decent amount of "new stuff"... so this isn't anything surprising. But it's good to have it reported to remove any form of hope.

Personally I'm starting to look at SE like some drop dead good looking blonde trying to sell something to me... It's a sales tactic, and I simply refuse to buy into it...
Course this news also makes me question about the release of a demo to be included on LR. Perhaps that could be part of the reason for the delay on the PS3 version, although I feel a mistimed release is unacceptable for SE trying to gain worldwide acceptance with this multi platform idea.
Oh well, I didn't expect news on FFXIII or a demo, so I'll just sit back and do other things until SE gives me a reason to drool.
