FFXIII Set For Private Square-Enix Event In August
Okay, so we won't be getting a Final Fantasy XIII demo at this year's E3, but that doesn't mean we won't be hearing anything from the Square-Enix camp this summer.
The latest Famitsu issue has turned us on to the publisher's upcoming private event set for August, entitled "DK S 3713." Sure, it's a bizarre name, but Forever-Fantasy.net was quick to speculate that each character in the title may indicate a specific game, and as it turns out, they were probably right. If you head on over to the official website for the upcoming event, you will find the list of games that are on tap:
- Final Fantasy XIII (PlayStation 3)
- Final Fantasy Agito XIII (Mobile)
- Final Fantasy Versus XIII (PlayStation 3)
- Kingdom Hearts Coded (Mobile)
- Kingdom Hearts358/2 Days (Nintendo DS)
- Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep (Sony PSP)
- Dissidia Final Fantasy (Sony PSP)
- The 3rd Birthday (Mobile)
- Sigma Harmonics (Nintendo DS)
- Final Fantasy VII AC Complete (Blu-Ray)
Yep, there it is: Final Fantasy XIII in all its impending glory. Let's just hope Square-Enix actually takes this chance to give us a bunch of new details rather than repeating what we already know; if we're insanely lucky, maybe they'll even reveal a tentative release date! But all we really want is a progress report, so cross your fingers, RPG fans...

These titles are more "Square-Enix" than the ones announced for the Xbox360. As those were from mostly tri-ace games.

When you alienate your long time followers its gonna have a pretty big repercussion. In terms of those series, sure they might flourish in the Western Markets but they'll be dead soon in Japan... If it doesn't do well in Japan its gonna hit the developers big time.
