First-Ever World At War Gameplay To Debut On GTTV
Hey, this might be turning into a very interesting routine.
Last Friday, GameTrailers TV brought us the first ever gameplay footage of Resistance 2 and this Friday, we can expect the same treatment for Activision and Treyarch's Call of Duty: World at War. It's an exclusive look at in-game footage and it will debut at the same time as the Resistance 2 trailer last week: 1:00 a.m., ET/PT, and in full high-definition. This fifth installment in the critically acclaimed series returns players to World War II and is built using the engine from the immensely successful Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. You'll be fighting the Great War on two separate fronts - as it really was fought - as you will take the side of the US against Japan in the South Pacific and then ally with the Russians against the Germans in Europe. For the first time, we'll have "an uncensored experience with unique enemies and combat tactics," and on top of that, we get co-op gameplay for the first time in the series.
"With Call of Duty: World at War, we're re-defining peoples' expectations of WWII games and we're looking forward to showing gameplay video for the first time," said David Pokress, Head of Marketing for Activision's Owned Properties Business Unit. "On Friday, we will begin to pull back the curtain on a range of in-game features - from cooperative gameplay to new weapons like the flamethrower - that take players to a WWII that they've never experienced."
If you tune in then, you will also be able to check out more "first-ever gameplay footage" for THQ's Ultimate Fighting Championship 2009 and Pandemic/EA's The Lord of the Rings: Conquest. Oh, and there should be some sort of "special Star Wars exclusive from LucasArts." Need any more reasons to switch on the TV late this Friday?
