Sony Dress-ing Up The PlayStation 3
Who says there isn't any originality left in the gaming industry today? We've already seen plenty of uniqueness from Nintendo and the Wii and DS, and on Sony's side, all one has to do is take a gander at the revolutionary PlayStation Home service, plus games like LittleBigPlanet and Afrika. And speaking of Home...
As you can see, Sony has launched a teaser site for the game, Dress, which will utilize some sort of innovative new avatar system that somehow operates outside the regular Home interface. It's hard to tell exactly what kind of game this is, but according to DLB Network, Sony is supposedly working closely with "real-world fashion brands" to let your very own virtual self (your avatar) experiment with the latest and most relevant fashions. In fact, you will do all your shopping in Dress Town, which - from what we can gather - is one giant store that will represent an authentic experience for buying clothing. Obviously, this goes well beyond stepping into Perseus to pick up a suit for Niko in Grand Theft Auto IV, so pay attention, fashion freaks.
We hate to risk sounding sexist, but perhaps this is a game that will appear more to the fairer sex, who must at least admit they tend to enjoy shopping more than men...especially when it comes to clothes. But either way, we do want to learn more about Dress, so stay tuned for more details.
