Rumor: Infinity Ward To Announce Sci-Fi Game At E3
This would be an awfully easy rumor to fabricate, especially considering the only reference is the classic "inside source" that could very well be non-existent. But then again, we figure Infinity Ward should definitely be working on something.
According to TalkPlayStation, IW, the acclaimed developers behind last year's gem, Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, are indeed working on a new next-gen project. No, it's not Call of Duty 5; those duties returned to Treyarch, who plan to bring the franchise back to World War II with Call of Duty: World at War. Instead, an "insider" has let us in on the following small detail: "we are currently working on a new sci-fi title, we cannot release any more information as of yet, we may or may not announce it at E3." Okaaaay, why even bother to mention E3 if you're not going to reveal your game at the event? Was it part of the question initially asked? We're not sure, but we do know a "sci-fi game" could mean just about anything. It could fall into any given genre, which doesn't really tell us much. However, this is Infinity Ward, and based on CoD4, we're willing to give them the benefit of the doubt.
So we'll keep a sharp eye out for IW at E3 and see if they've got something new to share. We're relatively certain that whatever it is, gamers will want to know about it. IW made a lot of fans last year!
