MGS4 Database Hits Europe June 26

Last week, US and Japanese Metal Gear Solid fans were treated to a very special surprise on the PlayStation Store: the Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots Database, which is every hardcore follower's dream. It encompasses the entire long-running series, providing information and details on storylines, characters, and relationships. Unfortunately for fans in Europe, though, the Database didn't make it to their region.

Of course, one could always set up a separate account and nab it from either the US or Japanese Store, but even so, Euro fans must've felt just a bit cheated. Well, Konami isn't about to cheat you guys; they probably just experienced that troublesome language barrier- the MGS4 Database will hit the European Store in just a few days on June 26. As MCVUK reminds you, it's a free downloadable add-on, and it will not issue any story spoilers for MGS4. That extra content will be blacked out until the Database detects a save file that proves you've advanced far enough in MGS4 so the information won't act as spoiler. Great feature, we say. A Konami representative added the following:

"Metal Gear Solid 4 Database is a stunning and completely free companion to the series, and will answer any question pertaining to Hideo Kojimas games and characters."

Anyway, the Database isn't non-existent in Europe; it's just a little late. No worries!

Glad that they're getting it. It is a total awesome update for MGS4 and can answer any question you have about the MG franchise with its near 600 entries.

This is what I've always wanted, now if Sony could do a timeline for the God of War franchise. I always wanted the timeline for Soul Reaver franchise.

God of War doesn't really have a complex story or timeline...The reason they did this for MGS is because it has probably the most confusing storyline of any game ever made.

For GoW try the Greek Pantheon. Not perfect, but still fun.

Yeah, GoW is more of knowing your mythology than understanding the story.

But god of war still had a better story than most action games.... Ninja Gaiden... remember that STORY?

It was nice and epic, but not as massive and twisted as MGS...not a con by anymeans though ;)
