MGS4 PS3 Bundles Return Soon
If you were one of the many who were waiting for the launch of Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots before leaping into the new generation and buying a PlayStation 3, you may have been disappointed on launch day. During GameStop's midnight madness for the game, it became abundantly clear to most that the highly coveted MGS4 PS3 bundle was in short supply.
There's a reason that Limited Edition package was called "limited," as the 80GB machine coupled with the special Limited Edition of the game flew off shelves faster than Snake can dispatch a baddie from behind. But have no fear; one retailer says a resupply shipment is coming our way soon, and we can probably expect to see the MGS4 PS3 bundle return in early July, as evidenced by this Sony Style comment:
"Due to overwhelming demand, the product is currently unavailable. The new estimated time of arrival date for when this will be available is the beginning of July." (source- GameRush)
Sony won't issue exact numbers, but they're obviously quite happy with the bundle's popularity, and they're working to bring it back to retailers as fast as possible. In an official statement on the matter, an SCEA representative had this to say:
"While we cant provide specifics on inventory levels, the Metal Gear Solid 4 PlayStation 3 bundle is a limited-edition offering thats experiencing high demand from Metal Gear and PlayStation enthusiasts. Were pleased with the strong consumer interest in the bundle and are working to ensure that additional shipments are provided to retailers."
So stay patient and vigilant, would-be PS3 owners who missed out on this package during the MGS4 launch: the Limited Edition bundle hasn't disappeared for good. Not yet, anyway.
