Duke Nukem Forever a No-Show At E3
If you're the undisputed champion of something - anything - it must be difficult to give up the title. Duke Nukem Forever may be the king of the hill in the world of "vaporware;" in fact, that game helped coin the term. Earlier this year, we were led to believe that the highly anticipated FPS would actually arrive some time in 2008 after a good ten years of being on the back burner. But sadly, and not surprisingly, we haven't heard anything since then.
And now, Strategy Informer says 3D Realms has no plans to bring Duke Nukem Forever to E3 next month. Well, that's just dandy. At this point, it's difficult to even guess if the game even exists, primarily because all we've had recently is a pretty standard trailer that didn't show much of anything in the way of gameplay. Furthermore, it was never even confirmed the title would come to the PlayStation 3, although the developer did hint at the very likely possibility. After all these years, we just don't have a whole lot of information on DNF, and that doesn't exactly fill us with a lot of confidence. Besides, wouldn't this have to be the single greatest game in history for it to live up to all the expectations accrued over the past decade?
We could tell you that we're keeping an eye on things, but while that's true to some extent, it's kinda like saying we're gonna watch paint dry. It's really no fun for us, and we seriously doubt it'll be interesting for any of you.

Half Life 2 and Bioshock were great, but neither of those were the type of FPS shoot 'em up that Duke Nukem is.
