PlayStation Blog To Debut Firmware 2.40 Walkthrough Video?

If you're a PlayStation 3 owner, you probably have done two things recently- 1. wondered about that firmware update 2.40, which will include an in-game XMB and trophy support, and 2. kept checking PSX Extreme for any new information on the subject. See, all you really needed to do is the latter; we take the best care of PlayStation owners on the 'Net. 'tis true.

Anyway, we heard from a supposedly reliable source in the NeoGAF forums last week that we can expect an official unveiling on June 30 with the actual update to arrive on "the following Monday." Now, we assume that's not today (today's the 30th), so that would mean that fancy firmware will arrive on July 7. On the other hand, we've also heard from plenty of other unofficial sources that July 2 will be the day. Well, it seems we'll soon know, as the official PlayStation blog has revealed some big news:

"But because I know what youre going to ask about, and because we don't traffic in rumors and/or speculation, I invite you to come back to the Blog tonight (just shy of midnight Pacific). We've got a video to show you." -- Jeff Rubinstein, Social Media Manager

Yep, that would mean at the stroke of June 30, we might see the video walkthrough for firmware 2.40, and of course, the first look at that in-game XMB. "Midnight Pacific" is less than four hours away now, so we suggest keeping a close eye on the blog for that special video. Chances are, we all know what it's going to be...
