Exclusive Game Mode For FIFA 09 PS3
We get so annoyed at writing news stories that tell us PlayStation 3 owners will receive the short end of the stick when it comes to a certain title. We've had to do it a lot in the early days of the system's existence, but every once in a while, the PS3 version of a game is special for a positive reason. And in the future, we expect more good things...
According to a GameSpot interview with FIFA 09 producer David Rutter, the PS3 version will boast an "exclusive game mode," which ought to entice many a fan. As is, we're getting 30 leagues, 40 national teams, and a supposed "150 key changes" that should include the following: "responsiveness, physical play and their affect through attributes, plus the AI." A new mode available for all versions of FIFA 09 is Custom Team Tactics, where 11 pieces of criteria dictate how your team performs on the field. This will offer 140 attacking and 40 defensive options - it's a soccer lover's micromanagement dream! - and the return of "Be A Pro" Career mode is also good news. But we're most interested in that currently unannounced PS3 exclusive game mode...what could it be?
We don't know yet, but just to know it exists is something. It seems that with every step they take in 2009, EA Sports may actually be determined to recover lost trust on the part of the PS3 owner. They've already made their Madden 20th Anniversary celebration PlayStation exclusive, and now, FIFA 09 has a little extra treat for PS3 users. Well, at least they're trying!
