SOCOM: Confrontation And PlayStation Bluetooth Headset Delayed?
Normally, game delays aren't exactly newsworthy - unless we're talking about a super giant release - but this one carries with it an unfortunate side-effect.
If you have pre-ordered SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs Confrontation from GameStop, you've probably received a disappointing phone call. It seems that Sony has been forced to delay the game for one month; they want to give the development team more time to iron out any remaining kinks. This pushes the release date from September 16 to October 14, even though Sony has yet to officially confirm this themselves. But there is another issue, here: last week, they unveiled the PlayStation Bluetooth headset, which would ship with Confrontation. We still don't have release or pricing details on the standalone unit, but we get the feeling we won't see that until the Confrontation package arrives. Hence, the logical assumption is that this nifty headset has been delayed, too.
We'll have to wait for more news on this, but in the meantime, it appears PS3 users may have to wait a bit longer for both the new SOCOM and the first next-gen PlayStation-branded headset.
