MK vs. DC Comics Video Debuts On GTTV This Friday

GameTrailers and Spike TV have been busy lately, providing debut videos for some of the hottest upcoming games of 2008. Well, it appears they're just getting started, because another one is set to be unveiled this Friday, on our Independence Day.

Scheduled to air at 1:00 a.m. ET/PT, you can view the world's first video of Mortal Kombat vs. DC Comics, and it's guaranteed to draw a whole lot of fans. This is one game that should appeal to both fighting lovers and avid superhero freaks, and we're hoping we might finally get a title worthy of its name. Mortal Kombat is a legend in the world of gaming, so it only makes sense to pair it up with legendary superheroes from colorful children's literature. How great will it be to have Scorpion face off against Batman? Or Johnny Cage vs. Superwoman? There are all kinds of possibilities, and if this game turns out good, it should be the ultimate party fighter. Invite your friends over and get battlin'!

We're not quite sure what this video will show on Friday, but we're certainly expecting some gameplay. In addition, more details and information would be helpful as well...

Bad idea when have these stupid company slash games (or Films) EVER WORKED......NEVER!!!!!!

Mortal Kombat is on the verge of extinction, After MK4 Lets be honest, the games flopped. As for teaming up with Marvel, It must be a sales tactic, Marvel have been raping the cinema screen with there super hero films, being popular now it seems like a good tactic to sell, but the quality of the game will no doubt be a seperate matter.

Mortal Kombat really needs a facelift, The past very games all the characters move like slow overweight macho body builders, they should really try capture the arcade style again, make up for the previous titles & call it "Mortal Kombat 5" ^_^

Correction: They teamed up with DC Comics, not Marvel. And Ultimadream, you have been busy today haven't you?

Marvel & DC Comics are practically identical, lets be honest, even there Art style is pretty identical.

As for your sarcasm of me being busy, grow up. I'm actually on here to keep from being bored while packing my suitcase for a 3 week holiday at florida, so if your assuming i dont get out much, your wrong (If you werent being sarcastic i apologise fully lol)

Last week i was witness to 2 comic fans arguing as to which is better, Marvel or DC.
After that i can say that you are completely wrong to say they are the same.

Ultimadream:

As a former avid collector of comic books, while I see where you're coming from re: the styles/storylines/characters being very similar, Marvel and DC are still two entirely different corporate entities.

Marvel is owned by Hasbro. DC is owned by Time Warner. Does that make one better than the other or their products at all unique and different? No. But your original point revolved around Midway teaming up with Marvel, which they aren't, regardless of how similar their product may be to DC's.

Ok, i got the name wrong, but the principles are still the same. Super Heroes are all the rage now. DC COMICS products are mostly Super Hero themed. Mixing DC's Super Heroes With Mortal Kombat Characters, still shows MK is desperate, there clinging on to another company, There becoming independent! Which makes me sad because i love the classic Mortal Kombat games & would rather see them go back to there old arcade styled roots.

@Ultima thats a pretty ignorant thing to say there principles are the same. I can understand if you're not an avid comic, or superhero fan, but storylines are so much different and the illustrations are very different.

I'm very skeptical of this game. I'm very curious to see how do u implement superman into a game like this. Superman should be able to defeat any of these characters, but obviously he won't be that strong. I remember the marvel vs capcom games, they were alright but I didn't too much like it. It seemed the Dev made the superheros less powerful. I'm just intrigued by MK vs DC

The principles of MK clinging on to DC COMICS does still stand, its just a market sell out scam

@Ultima
I agree with u half way. Right now marvel is kicking DC's tail. So I figure they're both tryin to help each other. Also This is their 1st try 4 Mk To do a vs game. I'm goin to keep an open mind on this.

I'm not a MK fan at all but a huge DC fan. So this will finally make me play MK.

Well imagine your used to these Company clash games, There have been alot of Comic ones before. but Mortal Kombat just doesnt fit in, its like Kingdom Hearts, The Disney side was fantastic, but the Final Fantasy Cast wasnt handled well at all! There were never any FF themed events at all, They made no impact to the game what so ever.
Simular things seem to be happening already like no fatalities!

I can understand the no fatalities, cause DC is never, ever that violent. U have to remember DC is a comic so I don't think Batman fans wouldn't like to see him get his head ripped off wit his spine still attached, even though that would be hilarious.

lol it would, but saying in deffence that its a comic doesnt mean it cant be violent. Comics, Anime (Urgh!) & Manga usually have over the top violence.

True I've seen a couple of ultra violent comics, just not the big 2 which is DC and Marvel. Which is another reason I'm so intrigued by this game, I'll definitely check it out cause I'm so curious. I'm not sayin it'll be good or bad but just curious.
