MK vs. DC Comics Video Debuts On GTTV This Friday
GameTrailers and Spike TV have been busy lately, providing debut videos for some of the hottest upcoming games of 2008. Well, it appears they're just getting started, because another one is set to be unveiled this Friday, on our Independence Day.
Scheduled to air at 1:00 a.m. ET/PT, you can view the world's first video of Mortal Kombat vs. DC Comics, and it's guaranteed to draw a whole lot of fans. This is one game that should appeal to both fighting lovers and avid superhero freaks, and we're hoping we might finally get a title worthy of its name. Mortal Kombat is a legend in the world of gaming, so it only makes sense to pair it up with legendary superheroes from colorful children's literature. How great will it be to have Scorpion face off against Batman? Or Johnny Cage vs. Superwoman? There are all kinds of possibilities, and if this game turns out good, it should be the ultimate party fighter. Invite your friends over and get battlin'!
We're not quite sure what this video will show on Friday, but we're certainly expecting some gameplay. In addition, more details and information would be helpful as well...

As a former avid collector of comic books, while I see where you're coming from re: the styles/storylines/characters being very similar, Marvel and DC are still two entirely different corporate entities.
Marvel is owned by Hasbro. DC is owned by Time Warner. Does that make one better than the other or their products at all unique and different? No. But your original point revolved around Midway teaming up with Marvel, which they aren't, regardless of how similar their product may be to DC's.

I'm very skeptical of this game. I'm very curious to see how do u implement superman into a game like this. Superman should be able to defeat any of these characters, but obviously he won't be that strong. I remember the marvel vs capcom games, they were alright but I didn't too much like it. It seemed the Dev made the superheros less powerful. I'm just intrigued by MK vs DC

I agree with u half way. Right now marvel is kicking DC's tail. So I figure they're both tryin to help each other. Also This is their 1st try 4 Mk To do a vs game. I'm goin to keep an open mind on this.
I'm not a MK fan at all but a huge DC fan. So this will finally make me play MK.

Mortal Kombat is on the verge of extinction, After MK4 Lets be honest, the games flopped. As for teaming up with Marvel, It must be a sales tactic, Marvel have been raping the cinema screen with there super hero films, being popular now it seems like a good tactic to sell, but the quality of the game will no doubt be a seperate matter.
