Rumor Busted: Kratos Won't Slice Into Soul Calibur IV
Well, we still think it's a great idea, and downloadable content is great for making previously dashed dreams come true at a future date.
We had heard a rumor not long ago that the God of War bad-ass himself, Kratos, would be included in the fighter roster for Soul Calibur IV. It really wasn't an impossible scenario, especially considering that a couple new pop culture characters (Darth Vader and Yoda) are already there, and besides, Kratos would be perfect for that game. But sadly, according to 1Up's recent podcast, Kratos is most certainly not in SCIV. Again, there could be the possibility that he will become a downloadable accessory some time down the road, but we kinda wanted him on July 29, when this awesome fighter is scheduled to hit store shelves. Still, there is an impressive list of characters in the game already, and we're certain we'll forgive them for leaving out Kratos as soon as we sit down with SCIV for a while.
If we hear anything about Kratos dropping onto the Store, we'll be sure to let you know. In the meantime, have fun with Vader in the PS3 version of the game (Yoda should appear as a DLC character later, too, we imagine).
