Flying High In Paradise With Planes
This is going to fall firmly in the "WTF" file, which is getting thicker by the day in the video game industry.
Burnout has always been about mind-melting speed, general intensity, and legitimate "OH!" moments. Criterion has managed to make these games so entertaining by providing a slew of ridiculously fast cars, and recently, ridiculously fast motorcycles. Of course, the addition of the crotch rocket will grant gamers access to a whole new dimension of insanity, but believe it or not, the developers aren't yet satisfied. No, even motorcycles don't go fast enough...planes go faster. Yeah, that's right: planes. According to their official site, Criterion details their latest Cagney update, than says they've been "experimenting with planes" for Burnout Paradise, which is most bizarre but at the same time, also quite intriguing. Crash Mode in a plane? ...doesn't everything just disintegrate or liquefy or something?
Anyway, if they really do decide to make this move, we'll definitely tell you about it. It's one update that might actually get the curious to purchase Paradise, just to see how nutty the plane aspect will be. Stay tuned, brave drivers and prospective pilots.

Oh and I still feel bad about buying this game the day it came out. It wasn't as exciting as I thought it would be.

Now I will agree the 1st game wasn't that good at all but Mid Night club 2 was the 1st to throw in motorcycles and did it right. Dub took it all to the next level and threw in customization to compete with the Need for Speed series and made the worlds bigger. I work at a game store and I sell a hell of ALOT more copies of Mid Night Club 3, than any of the Burn Out games. And the whole airplane thing I'm not too sure about all that in a racing game. If you wanna fly planes stick with the Ace Combat series, or wait until Hawx comes out which looks pretty damn good so far.

All in all I enjoy all three series and rank the BurnOut games higher overall quality of the others but there is no denying Dub was a fun game, that's all I'm saying. BurnOut>MidNight>NFS.
Hot Pursuit 2 still owns all other NFS.
And on a last note the Club series games take themselves alot less serious than all the others, which is one reason why I think people enjoy them.

Topping only Burnout Revenge (also thought Paradise left a bad taste), NFS: Hot Pursuit II is my favorite racing game to date. Hot Pursuit III anybody?
