Square-Enix Reveals E3 Lineup
For the past few months, we've been wondering if we'd see Final Fantasy XIII at E3, and we kept getting conflicting reports from several sources. Some claimed Square-Enix most certainly had something to display while others said they'd be skipping E3 and unveiling more FFXIII goodness at their upcoming private party in August. Well, it appears to be the latter.
Square-Enix has revealed their E3 2008 lineup, and as you can see, there is no Final Fantasy XIII or Final Fantasy Versus XIII. Furthermore, although we knew The Last Remnant was a multiplatform title, we had hoped the new Star Ocean would be as well. Unfortunately for PlayStation 3 owners, Star Ocean: The Last Hope falls only under the Xbox 360 category. It also reminds us that Remnant will debut first on Microsoft's console and come later on the PS3. Here's the list:
- The Last Remnant (Multi)
- Song Summoner: The Unsung Heroes (iPod)
- Chrono Trigger (DS)
- Dragon Quest: Chapters of the Chosen (DS)
- Final Fantasy IV (DS)
- Star Ocean: First Departure (PSP)
- Star Ocean: Second Evolution (PSP)
- Infinite Undiscovery (Xbox 360)
- Star Ocean: The Last Hope (Xbox 360)
It used to be that if you were a RPG fan, you absolutely had to own Sony's console in either of the last two generations. But so far in this generation, it seems more logical to have the 360, which has already seen the likes of Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey and which, obviously, will be getting some Square-Enix love. As for PS3 owners, guess we'll just have to wait for more info on FFXIII...hopefully not much longer.

The way I see it, SquareEnix has lost it's concern for it's user base... This shows most notably with Final Fantasy XI, and how they've handled it over the last year, year and a half. Plus the above list, all I see is DS, PSP, and 360... So in otherwords, portable systems, and 360. Glad SE cares about the fan base that not only saved the company 20 years ago, but has continued to be their flagship title for 20 years. Which has nothing to do with Nintendo or Sony... But the very title itself. *angry*

Like myself, i have ps1, ps2. I dont have xbox. But now i have xbox 360, not ps3.
The reason i buy ps1 is for the rpg, same with ps2, and x360. I buy x360 for the RPG.
And im happy playing eternal sonata and lost odyssey on x360. And play some ace combat 6 :D
Many people in the world have xbox 360.
Thats why they decided to make games on x360. Square is a game company, their bussiness is making game.
They make game to get money.
And i wont be surprised if the rpg created on x360, will be released on ps3 too.
Star ocean now is x360 exclusive, but for japan market, im sure square will release the ps3 version.
Just like bandai namco with eternal sonata and tales of vesperia.
