Soul Calibur IV Game Install Optional?
We're starting to gather up some conflicting reports concerning the data install for the upcoming Soul Calibur IV. As of now, the question is simple: is that 2.85GB install optional or mandatory, and could it be possible that it's optional for certain territories?
According to the Videogaming247 blog, the "current UK Soul Calibur IV PS3 code is optional, not mandatory as is being reported by US sites." ...okay, so does this mean it's optional everywhere? We've been told by other sources that the install is mandatory, regardless of where you live; nigh-on 3GB of data is going to have to be stored to the HDD if you wish to play. Now, this is probably going to spark more debate on the subject - remember that petition against mandatory game installs? - but we still don't have all the facts, obviously. Ubisoft is going to have to clear this up because the different reports are starting to confuse us. For now, most are simply willing to accept the fact that it's mandatory, and let's face it, most of us have the space to spare.
But if you don't like the idea of the mandatory install, regardless of what happens with SCIV, you may want to sign that petition. We're not sure if it will do any good, but hey, at least you can add your name if you so desire.
