If you're craving some good old-fashioned Bionic Commando action, you needn't wait much longer. The next-gen installment won't arrive until much later but Rearmed - an upcoming downloadable title for the PlayStation Store - is right around the corner.

If you're interested in this imminent old-school action arrival, head on over to the official PlayStation blog and check out all the latest info and details, provided by Capcom producer Ben Judd. From now until the launch of the game, you can expect more updates on a frequent basis, and the first batch is already here: Judd talks about "PSN specific content" for Rearmed, throws in a brief weapon breakdown, and offers a description of the FSA medals. The PlayStation Store has become an excellent resource for developers who wish to reintroduce classics from the golden age of gaming, and Capcom is definitely willing to do that. We're certain that more old 2D titles will be remade for release on the PSN; this is only the beginning!

Bionic Commando: Rearmed is scheduled to hit the Store on July 24, and you should definitely consider downloading that bad boy. Those of us who were around for the original's release can remember how awesome that game was...hence, we expect nothing but old-school nostalgic glory with Rearmed.
