Ubisoft To Unveil I Am Alive At E3?
Mysteries abound at E3! This may be written simply for dramatic effect, but it can't be denied that a slew of previously unannounced big-name games may be unveiled next week. Sony seems primed and ready to reveal whatever it is they have in the shrouded hopper, and now, it's Ubisoft's turn to step up and tease gamers. It's just a rumor for now, but if it's genuine, it's certainly intriguing...
According to Strategy Informer and Gamekyo (formerly JeuxFrance), Ubisoft has announced today that they'll be showing off a brand new next-gen action game at E3 2008 called I Am Alive; it's scheduled to arrive for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC. Interestingly enough, the game has been in development for almost 3 years at Darkworks, and Jade Raymond (Ubisoft producer who worked on last year's Assassin's Creed) is definitely involved in the proccess. Right now, details are few and far between, but we do know the setting is a post-earthquake-shaken Chicago, and that while the game is played in a first-person view, there will be no weapons. In other words, this reminds us of EA's Mirror Edge.
As of now, I Am Alive is slated for a spring 2009 release, and we can expect a debut gameplay trailer at E3 along with plenty more info. This is all taking the rumor into account; we can't really say it's "confirmed." And if you're wondering why all the sources are mentioning that Raymond is working on this game, there are two distinct reasons: 1. AC may be Ubisoft's best title of the new generation so far, and she was a major part of it, and 2. she's obviously cute. Cute video game designers are few and far between - apparently - so you'll be seeing her picture all over the place for a while. Then again, this entire fiasco could've been started by reporters who simply wanted to put her picture into something.
