Ubisoft To Unveil I Am Alive At E3?

Mysteries abound at E3! This may be written simply for dramatic effect, but it can't be denied that a slew of previously unannounced big-name games may be unveiled next week. Sony seems primed and ready to reveal whatever it is they have in the shrouded hopper, and now, it's Ubisoft's turn to step up and tease gamers. It's just a rumor for now, but if it's genuine, it's certainly intriguing...

According to Strategy Informer and Gamekyo (formerly JeuxFrance), Ubisoft has announced today that they'll be showing off a brand new next-gen action game at E3 2008 called I Am Alive; it's scheduled to arrive for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC. Interestingly enough, the game has been in development for almost 3 years at Darkworks, and Jade Raymond (Ubisoft producer who worked on last year's Assassin's Creed) is definitely involved in the proccess. Right now, details are few and far between, but we do know the setting is a post-earthquake-shaken Chicago, and that while the game is played in a first-person view, there will be no weapons. In other words, this reminds us of EA's Mirror Edge.

As of now, I Am Alive is slated for a spring 2009 release, and we can expect a debut gameplay trailer at E3 along with plenty more info. This is all taking the rumor into account; we can't really say it's "confirmed."  And if you're wondering why all the sources are mentioning that Raymond is working on this game, there are two distinct reasons: 1. AC may be Ubisoft's best title of the new generation so far, and she was a major part of it, and 2. she's obviously cute. Cute video game designers are few and far between - apparently - so you'll be seeing her picture all over the place for a while.  Then again, this entire fiasco could've been started by reporters who simply wanted to put her picture into something.

If it gets Miss Raymond's picture on up more, this story is certainly worthwhile.

We reported on that a little while ago: Ubisoft says they need more in the way of fan feedback and demand before they start working on a sequel to AC. They might get it, but for now, I don't think they're currently working on such a project.

Ubisoft are just plain crazy if you ask me. They got a cult classic in the making in AC but are dragging their feet and begging for attention.
Make the damn sequel and it'll get attention.

On another note, anyone remember when AC meant Armored Core? And if so, does anyone else get a little confused with the ever changing acronyms? lol

The thing I didn't like about AC is that once you've done the missions and side missions in one city, you've basically played everything the game has to offer in terms of gameplay and you we're just repeating this in the other cities.
It is like Ubisoft just cut-and-pasted from the first quarter or first 5th of the game, IMO.

Just as a side note to the story, guys: Ubisoft has declined to comment on anything. Not really worth updating the story with that, but thought you might like to know. ...they're not DENYING it, mind you, which means they might just be hiding it until next week.

Ben, I think that ubisoft is just being too lazy to make assassins creed 2, remember that they have issues with AC1, they might not want to encounter the same problems for AC2
