Sony E3 Content Hits Home In Europe

See, this is why PlayStation Home needs to make its way here as fast as humanly possible.

The potential for such a service is well known throughout the gaming community, and while a closed beta continues to operate overseas, North American PlayStation 3 users have to wait for the open beta to become available this fall. Look what we're missing: according to European gaming site PS3-Sense, Sony has revealed that Sony's E3 press conference on Tuesday will be broadcast within PlayStation Home, and it's specially designed for the press. Sony will hand out 25 beta accounts to journalists for the express purpose of seeing the press conference and a bunch of other E3-related content through the Home service. There's no doubt that this will appeal to most anyone involved in the industry, and we really can't wait to get our hands on that open beta later this year.

Of course, the Sony conference can be seen via live streaming video at a variety of websites, but Home will include a bunch more content for those lucky Euro users. The potential is there, that's for certain.

Why is it taking so long to make Home? Sony just have a ton of your developers to work on it for like a week or two and it should be ready to go.

They probably have like 3 people working on it. :/

Don't get me wrong but I can watch E3 coverage on G4tv so I don't see the big deal for this particular event. I supposed European owners might not get the E3 coverage like us in North America. Also wanted to ask everyone, what is the big deal with Home? Admittedly, I was excited when it was first announced last year but I've had time to think and I prefer functionality rather than an evolutionary second-life. I know I asking for it but do some of you get my drift? If there is a screening room for the live coverage why not build a simplistic version into the interface as it stands today?

I had your exact thinking before I actually watched the video of it on PSN.

Download it and watch it...it will change your opinion and get you excited for its release.

Arnold is. I'll be here to take care of the news updates as they come; he's mostly going for hands-on previews.

I cant wait for Home. It is taking forever though. Lets hope this doesn't turn into another "Duke Nukem: Forever" project! I doubt it will though. Sony seems hard at work to get this out. And as much work as they have put into this, there is no way they would cancel it.

I am personally quite excited about home, it'll provide a whole new interface for the PS3 communtity and a great way to hang out with mates online... i mean, come on, what's bad about hanging out with the virtual image of your mates?
