E3 2008: The Biggest PS3 Games
Today's Sony press conference gave us the chance to see plenty of titles for the PS3, PSP and PS2, and we've got a brief rundown of the best PlayStation 3 presentations right here for you.
First up, we certainly enjoyed the God of War III teaser, which was once again confirmed for the PlayStation 3. Kratos is only interested in "chaos," apparently, and he's looking better and badder than ever! They also previewed Sucker Punch's upcoming PS3 exclusive, InFamous, which could be one of the most under-appreciated titles thus far (at least in terms of hype); this game looks both fast and innovative. Mag is something we already told you about, and while we're not the biggest fans of MMOs, we have to admit...that one blew us away. We saw a little more of Killzone 2 - which mysteriously sat in a reel of upcoming games for 2008 - and of course, we were happy to learn of Ratchet and Clank: Quest for Booty, which has turned out to be a new Network game and a follow-up to last year's Ratchet and Clank Future: Tools of Destruction.
But Resistance 2 and LittleBigPlanet - perhaps along with the new online games; Mag and DC Universe - absolutely stole the show. In giving us the not-so-invigorating business details, Sony decided to use the help of LBP's cute little character when tossing up the charts and graphs. Sony's Jack Tretton obviously loves LBP due to its innovation and widespread appeal, and for us, Resistance 2 was most impressive. We hope to show you the E3 trailer very soon, because it will set your salivating for the game's release later this year.
Yes, Final Fantasy XIII is going to the Xbox 360, but Sony still has plenty of excellent exclusives, as evidenced by these game presentations: Resistance 2, LittleBigPlanet, Killzone 2, Gran Turismo: Prologue and Gran Turismo 5, Mag, the Ratchet and Clank series, InFamous, God of War III...honestly, does Microsoft's exclusive list really compare to that? It's not bad, and like I said earlier in my E3 editorial, you needn't cry yourself to sleep over FFXIII. Really. We saw some great exclusive PS3 games today.

Sorry about my earlier bitching about the loss of FFXIII as an exclusive. I think it was just the final whatever that broke the camels back...I mean it wasn't just FFXIII but a whole lot of rpgs going to the 360 instead of the system I own :-\ Maybe i'll do what you did and get the 360 for rpgs or games that I probably won't be seeing on the PS3. Anyway...
I gotta say tho seeing the new Resistance 2 trailer, inFAMOUS, and MAG...i'm pretty excited :)Mag definitly looks promising <3

I was just pointing out that it's not the end of the world. And yeah, I own the 360 for the games I can't get on the PS3...and it just so happens that many of them may be RPGs. Doesn't bother me. I still spend most of my time with the PS3, and probably always will.

InFamous and The Agency I definately would like to see more of.
Resistance 2... That bit they showed was just insane! I didn't care for the demo of the first game, can't see myself getting this one either honestly, but wow! It looked cool!
MAG... I want a release date like yesterday! orz! wow! BRING IT!

As for Halo, and I'm far from a fanboy of Microsoft or Halo (although I do like both alot), I didn't really think Halo was amazing either. Looking back on the original though, it was quite literally the first FPS game I could play till the very end. There was no GAME OVER, no start from the beginning. The setting and environments were cool. Still, it lacked from what I saw in Halo 3... A story. Call it a weak excuse, but perhaps it's because at 28, I know what it's like to go to the ends of the universe so to speak for somebody you care about. I just found the last game more about self sacrifice. As for "ground breaking" eh... I'd say that's pushing it, but it was definately the best FPS experience I had without knowing it until recently.
After several months of playing CoD4 with my ex, we loaded up Halo3 to see the new free map and mess around... We both came to the same conclusion... "WTF IS THIS? Give me back CoD4, this is stupid!" lol
I still think Halo is cool, but it's not the end all gotta have it FPS series. in the end, it also comes down to personal tastes, much like the clothes we all wear irl.

I like Warhawk too tho. I had alot of fun with it...plus a 3rdperson shooter is always my preferred shooter ;-)
Btw. I looked at a website just to see what the Nintendo had to present at E3...holy crap was that horrible! Worst than last year wtf happened?!?
I think the PS3 had the best showing, but M$ stole the most exclusives(imo due to they are running out of steam and the PS3 is gaining, so they gotta resort to paying for something...anything!)

Resistance FoM was a great game, but my only complaint, which is what they fixed in the sequal, was the dark, grey, and foggy atmosphere. Also I thought the weapons were a little to overdramatic looking but I'm definitely looking forward to playing R2!
