E3 2008: Gran Turismo TV Receives Major Update On August 1
Gran Turismo 5: Prologue has already blown us away with its stellar visuals and fantastic gameplay. At this point, we can only expect downright stupendous things from the final version of Gran Turismo 5, and to help augment that quality is a little something known as Gran Turismo TV.
Those who have Prologue are already familiar with the concept; there's an option for GTTV within the game. There, you can view extra content like interviews with professional drivers, real-life track laps, behind-the-scenes GT info, and more. But that was just the beginning. According to SCEA boss Jack Tretton at yesterday's E3 Sony press conference, GTTV is going to be getting another big update on August 1. Tretton talked about Pay-Per-View content, which will be broadcast in full high definition, and it's going to satisfy every hardcore racer's aching desire for more in the way of intricate racing details. He didn't go into exact specifics for this update and new content, but let's just say that if you're a GT fan, you had best log on in August to check it out. We all have to remember that GT creator Kazunori Yamauchi adores the subject, and if he can, he'll deliver as much as possible to fellow fans.
Stay tuned for more on GT5 as the year progresses; we're expecting an actual release date before 2008 is out. For now, we're plenty happy with Prologue, and as of August 1, Gran Turismo TV is going to undergo a major upgrade!
