E3 2008: Where Is Heavy Rain?

We saw a whole lot of games previewed at yesterday's Sony press conference at E3, but one of the most anticipated was curiously missing: Quantic Dream's Heavy Rain.

However, as Kotaku pointed out, the official Sony press release for the event does list the game amongst those that would make an appearance. The PlayStation 3 list includes the likes of God of War III, Resistance 2, LittleBigPlanet, and even the freshly unveiled Mag; all of which were shown at the press conference. In fact, every title on the list - from what we can see - saw airtime during the presentation...except Heavy Rain. They said it was going to be at E3, so perhaps they're going to unveil it behind closed doors today or tomorrow? Is this going to be a more private affair? We don't know, but if the promising game remains in absentia, we're going to have to conclude that Quantic Dream simply wasn't ready. If that's the case, there's always Leipzig next month and the Tokyo Game Show the month after that.

But right now, many PS3 owners are just wondering: where the heck is Quantic Dream? We'll see if we can find it; maybe it's hiding somewhere...

very true. i was wondering where is Heavy Rain? and where is the game that we heard about a few months ago that would change gaming. I'm sure you remember Ben, it was posted a few weeks ago that a guy view a game that Sony was working one and he was shock about how good it was. oh and one more thing i wanted to say or maybe two. it seems as if MS copied Sony"s and Nintendo with Lips a singing game and avatar. oh man they have mimic Sony's sing star and Nintendo's Mii. also MS is coming out with a game that uses a camera i think and the player will touch the items on the screen hmmmm seems like a rip off of ps2 "eye" where you interact with images on screen. honestly i did not expect copy cat games of software from MS, this to me is low. and i did expect more from Sony, well its not done yet.. well see. whats your take on this Ben?

Sry this is way off topic but has anyone looked at the new killzone 2 trailer off of the PSN...To me the whole thing looks like a reveal of a multiplayer match..dose anyone else think so?

MGS4 for the 360 will also come with exclusive content and gameplay that will not be in the PS3 version of the game. Some of this content is VR missions, as well as “Snake Tales” or “Snake in the Valley” (depending on where you live), which will let you go on objective based missions, some of which are very lengthy. These are the first two bonuses to emerge so far, but be ready to expect even more.

Where'd you get this from? First off, there is no way this could happen for one simple fact: MGS4 takes up 51 gigs of space on a Blu-Ray disc. Extra stuff would cause them to take even more space, and DVDs dont have that capacity. Second, it sounds like something a stupid X box fanboy made to try to get a rise of of some one. It sounds very far fetched and if it was real, I believe it would have been announced at E3.

mgs4 on 360 will barley fit, forget extra lengthy levels. I personally wouldn't want to switch between 7 discs lol.

Heavy Rain is published by Sony. It will not go multi-platform. Also, a few months ago (or late last year, can't remember), the director of Heavy Rain said that they would probably have new info at the end of 2008. July does not qualify for the end of 08. I don't have a link. You will just have to look for yourself.

This game will turn out just like Killzone 2. We'll see a small and amazing trailer at next years E3, and then 2 years later we'll be getting previews of the game lol. But yeah I hope something pops up soon on the web...

Apparently it was shown behind closed doors and "wowed" the crowd. And the people who saw it had to sign an NDA or something. Somehow I can't see this having a Q3 2008 release... as much as I hope...
